It is me again updating the blog instead of Curt. My appointment went very easy and I am not in true quarantine quite yet.
All that happened today was I was taken back to the consultation room that I was in when I had my initial appointment with Dr. Boll. One of the techs gave me 7 pills to take. After that I was free to leave. He made sure that I understood that I could go on with life as usual today so, I am somewhat. I am just so very very tired.
I will be at Memorial at 8:00am tomorrow morning for the full body scan. By the time it is done they will send us for something to eat while they calibrate the correct dose for me individually. That will depend on what they find during the scan. I will receive the dose and then they will keep me there until they feel comfortable that I am ok to go home.
I asked the tech how many people actually are nauseated from ingesting the radioactive iodine? He said probably somewhere around 20%. That has relieved my mind somewhat. I would say that is my biggest concern at this point. I was also concerned because the blood test that I had last week to see what my TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level is prior to the test was only 35.02. The reference range is between 0.27 to 4.20. No wonder I am so tired. They would like it to be closer to 50 but he said anything above 30 is ok. He also said since it has been 5 days since the blood draw that it is probably higher than that by now. Makes sense.
Have you ever seen a picture of a newborn baby laying in his or her father’s hand face down sleeping? That is a picture of what comes to my mind about what the Lord wants me to do with him. Just trust and rest.
Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavey laden and I will give you rest.
Love,
Carmel
